C. Mosley, “Auntie” Founder/Executive Director ` Elsewhere by Design
“I’ve seen what intentional design can do. Not just to a room, but in a life. I’ve experienced it myself.”

The Gap
Services may end the crisis, but families are still left with emptiness.
The Elsewhere response
Elsewhere is the journey to transformation—where families thrive and communities grow stronger.
Lives Reclaimed.
Hope Restored.
Communities Renewed.
“Elsewhere by Design was created to fill the gap families face after crisis ends. Too often, services alone don’t solve the problem—families are often left, unsure of what’s next or how to get there.” C. Mosley
In my years leading programs across housing, food, education, and workforce systems, I saw this firsthand. Once the crisis was stabilized, support often ended. Families were handed keys or services, but rarely the tools for lasting change. That disconnect never set well with me.
What If Lasting Change Began At The Front Door?
I chose home design as the bridge between services and lasting change—not as luxury, but as dignity, safety, and belonging. It speaks where services cannot.
When families who’ve been through tough times step into spaces designed with dignity and intention, they don’t just see beauty—they see possibility. Pride rises. Confidence grows. Joy returns. And we’ve witnessed that transformation immediately with every home or room reveal.
A New Beginning - By Design
In 2024, I stopped trying to choose between my creative heart and my community work—and realized they were never meant to be separate. Elsewhere by Design was born from that knowing.
This work is more than decorating houses; it is the bridge between services and lasting change—between crisis and confidence, survival and restoration.
At Elsewhere by Design, we don’t do anything for families—we do life with families. Each home transformation is a collaboration, a chance to reflect dignity back to the people who live there, and a doorway to resources that help stability take root.
Every project is designed on purpose. Every detail is intentional. Because true change is not random—it is built, layer by layer, by design.
